Zabriskie Point

There’s not a lot to say about this place. Nature and sight seeing. An unearthly landscape that stretches in eroded rough-hewn peaks into the horizon. It is breathtakingly inhospitable, one of those places that makes you feel small and glad for the comforts of life, putting you in your place as a human being.

 In 1970 Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni made a film by the same name with a soundtrack by Pink Floyd and Jerry Garcia. The film itself was a failure, but now is a cult movie about, no surprise, the counterculture.
